The Original Super Smash Bros Brawl (SSBB) will not work with WiiKey unless you update your Wiikey with "THIS" update burned onto a Quality DVD-R disk.

Here is the instructions on how to make a backup for your SSBB

Before you start making your own SSBB Backups you will need to know a few things

Link to IMGBurn

Friidump Zip

You will need a program called "Friidump" (rawdump will not work) and a special DVD-Rom reader (like the one's I listed here http://www.monstermodchip.com/Wiibackup.htm ).

You will need to burn the ISO image (once the dumping completed) to a good quality Dual Layer DVD-R (like from Verbatim) and input layer break in IMGBurn (the burning software we will be using for this ISO we just made),

Once it is complete (about 6hrs or more) go to my computers. Click c: and click on program files. Find your friidump file, open it and you will find you BRAWL iso. Check it to make sure the Bytes are the correct size. Right click the file, then click properties. It should be 8,511,160,320

Now put in a DL disk in a burner that will burn DL disk

Set the layer break in IMGBurn to user specified to 2084960. you can do this by going to

¡@
Open IMGBURN, select "write image file to disk", load the ISO we just made under "Source", click in TOOLS, SETTINGS->Write->Layer Break->User specified and type "2084960"

Click on the icon next to "write speed" to burn the ISO to the DL Disk (write speed change to 2.4X) and you should have a good backup of SSBB

Finally Make sure your Wiikey has the 1.9G update (if you can play the backed-up version of Super Mario Galaxy you are good to go), however if you are not sure you can download the update disk here and just burn it to a regular DVD-R and pop it into you Wii to update you WiiKey to 1.9G (just follow the on screen instructions)

Here is a little mini-guide on how to use Friidump for the dos-illiterate.

Step One: Download the windows installer, or zip file from the above link:

Step 2: Opening up the program.

-Click on the start menu, and hit run
-in the prompt, type "cmd" to bring up the command prompt.
(Note: In vista, the prompt is located above the windows orb when clicked.)

Step 3: Locating in MS DOS.

-Once you are in the command prompt, type "cd.." repeatedly until you are at the C:\
-Then, use the "cd" (Change Directory) command until the folder where friidump is located is selected (As shown below)

Step 3: Running the program with the desired parameters

-Because this program is line based, you need to execute the program and all its parameters in the one line.
-You will see the list of parameters when you run the program (As shown below)

Now, what we want to do is have the CD in the drive ready to go. From here its just a matter of typing in the line depending on what we do.
Here is a command to automatically dump the image in your drive (Mine is set to G:\), automatically name it and store it within the friidump folder.
friidump -d g: -a does this command, and you should see something like what is shown below. Only, when you do this, eventually you will see the disc information pop up, as well as the status of the rip and the ETA.

Once you get familiar with how the commands are executed, you can do the other stuff it offers such as being able to name it to whatever you wish. The reality of it, is that its much easier to do just what i did and rename it in windows afterwards.
